Restorative Dentistry.

Restorative Dentistry is a unique specialism which blends the three adult dental mono-specialities (prosthodontics, periodontics and endodontics) and implantology. As a Specialist and Consultant in Restorative Dentistry I am skilled in treating patients with complex multi-specialty dental challenges.

Crowns, Bridges and Dentures. (Prosthodontics)

Prosthodontics is the specialty which is involved in the prosthetic rehabilitation of patients with missing teeth, which may include rehabilitation involving simple fillings, crowns or bridges, partial or complete dentures or implant retained protheses. Such prostheses can provide notable enhancement of appearance and function.

Implant Dentistry.

Implant dentistry is the clinical practice in which titanium screws can be strategically implanted into the jaw bone to replace a missing tooth or teeth, or to support a denture. Implants require precision in planning and placement for optimal outcomes, and like teeth require good care and maintenance to ensure a healthy and serviceable life. They can provide highly aesthetic and long-lasting restorative solutions for replacing missing teeth.

Root Canal Treatments. (Endodontics)

Root canal treatment may be necessary due to the nerves within a tooth dying. This is can be due to a number reasons including extensive decay or trauma. In some cases root canal retreatment may be necessary due to failure of the initial root canal treatment. Fortunately, success rates of initial and retreatments are similar, often allowing for ongoing retention of a person's own tooth.

Gum Disease Care. (Periodontics)

Gum disease is characterised by inflammation and bleeding with the teeth becoming mobile and on occasion painful as disease progresses. Commonly, periodontal treatment includes supportive patient education to optimise plaque control and thorough cleaning of the tooth surfaces both above and below the gum level. In some cases a surgical approach can be beneficial.
